The 1. FC Nurnberg is relying on two well-known names in the youth performance center: Dominik Tekeser remains co-trainer with the Regionalliga champion and takes on a new role. Marek Mintal takes over the U19 of the club. Just a few days after the departure of Dominik Schmitt to Slovakia, 1. FC Nurnberg has presented a successor. Dominik Tekeser takes on the role of transition coordinator between the youth and professional areas. The 28-year-old will also continue to assist Andreas Wolf with the U23, which was crowned champion of the Regionalliga Bayern last season. Despite his young age, Tekeser has already gained a lot of experience with 1. FC Nurnberg: the former player of TSV Seligenporten has been with the club since 2016 and has coached numerous youth teams as head coach. In his new position, Tekeser is to supervise the young talents in the licensed area and promote their development in close consultation with the coaching team of Miroslav Klose. The development of talent and employees is a central component of 1. FC Nurnberg. As in previous years, we want to promote this not only with players but also with our coaches, explains Joti Chatzialexiou, sports director. Dominik has done very good work in the U23 last season and has a good connection to the young players. We are pleased that we have found an internal solution and can thus maintain the close link between the professional and club youth areas. Dieter Frey, director of club youth, is also pleased with the decision: for us as club youth, it is naturally a nice sign when not only players but also coaches make it to the licensed area. We are convinced that Dominik will master this exciting challenge of the dual function in the best possible way. Through the dual function, he is always integrated into the training content of both teams, can thus control the individual development of the boys very well and hopefully achieve the best output for us as a club. Marek Mintal is also being promoted. The Bundesliga legend of 1. FC Nurnberg last coached the offensive players of various teams in the club youth as an individual trainer and has thus recommended himself for the task of U19 coach, according to the announcement. Marek has integrated super into our team from day one after his return to FCN. He has an incredible ambition, wants to make the boys better every day, brings an incredibly great passion. We are convinced that he will also burn for the position of U19 coach and give the team valuable impulses due to his experience. We are therefore very pleased that he will be responsible for our A-juniors from now on, says Dieter Frey, director of club youth. This week, Marek Mintal will start preparing his team for the new season: I am very pleased about the trust shown and the opportunity that has arisen. With my coaching team, I want to ensure that the U19 also plays a very good role in the future and that as many players as possible make the leap to our U23 and the pros.
