Nurnberg to become more offensive
The 1. FC Nürnberg had the strongest team in terms of direct duels in the last season. No team was able to win more direct duels than FCN (3879). But there is a catch. The strength in direct duels was mainly due to the defensive.
What does this mean for Nurnberg?
In the offense, Klose's team was not able to shine in one-on-one duels, especially when excluding Mohamed Ali Zoma's (14 season goals) dribblings. This in turn meant that wing play was hardly present at the club. Only Berkay Yilmaz (21) provided action with his courageous flank runs on the left side.
Who are the new players?
Therefore, Rayan Ghrieb (27/coming from Magdeburg) and Can Moustfa (21/Energie Cottbus) were signed, exactly two player types who excel in offensive duels. This also fits: Justin von der Hitz (19) will be used by coach Miroslav Klose (48) further up front and not just as a right-back.
What's next?
So that Nurnberg can finally become more variable in their attacking play in the new season. Have you found any errors? Do you want to criticize something? Then write to us!
